The Well Block has played a crucial role in Grass Lake’s development for over a century. Built in 1898, it was once home to Wolfe’s Garage & Service, serving early automobiles with gasoline and repairs. The sturdy brick structure, which still stands at the corner of downtown, was also the site of one of the village’s blacksmith shops. In its earliest days, this was a hub of activity where locals gathered for trade and services essential to rural life. Over the years, it has housed various businesses, continually adapting to the needs of the community while retaining its historic charm.
